My Classroom!

So I wanted to use this page to share my 2013-2014 classroom with you all!  Even though we are already 3 months into the school year, I am still changing and coming up with new ideas! So don't be surprised if it looks completely different in 3 more months! lol. You will notice I used a movie theme this year! I LOVE, love movies and wanted to use that theme throughout the classroom! I'm really excited with how everything turned out. :)

Here is my Ritzy Writing bulletin board with the 6-traits of writing displayed on large posters and a "Writing a Story" poster.

I display student work across the top of this bulletin board with the "Spotlight on Star Work" poster and spotlights on either side! Adorable, right?! I glued thumbtacks onto clothespins so I can display student work and then change it out easily (although I'm not actually using the clothespins in this photo because their writing pieces were too large!) Pinterest idea!!! I also found the cute stage wallpaper from the teacher store that went perfectly with my movie theme.

For behavior, my school uses the BIST program so I created this behavior poster. Each student will have their name on a clothespin and will mark their percentage at the end of the day in their take home folders.

Here is a view of my entire classroom!

These reading strategies posters are located right behind my reading
table so the kids can see them easily! I found them on Pinterest.
My guided reading group baskets with materials all ready to go! I also keep my pink bucket that's labeled with the items I use all the time (witch fingers, highlighters, dry erase markers/erasers, and pencils.)

Comfy reading area with bean bang chairs and pillows. My books are leveled according to Fountas and Pinnell. The rest of the books are organized by genre.

You can kind of see my "Lights, Camera, Read!" board. This is where I have my Daily 5 anchor charts.

Created jobs based on movie terms! Students'
names are on a popcorn piece with velcro so
I can change them each week! I was really
excited with how this turned out!
I also have a whole class behavior incentive I use with the 100's chart called "Hollywood Boulevard Bingo." Students are given a chance to draw numbers for good behavior and can flip that number on the hundreds chart. When they have 10 in a row, they earn a class party! We are SO close! My listening center is right in front with these awesome little ottomans from Target!

Found these wonderful posters here!
Word work and math tubs

Daily schedule I change each day!

Bulletin board by my desk with pics of fam/friends.

And I have to give my mom credit for this one...I told her she could take the reigns for the bday board and just to "make it cute!" She sure did!! I love it!

Here is my objectives board. Honestly, I'm still working on the "cute factor" for this one. I feel it's lacking something special. I guess that's just the perfectionist in me. I bought the Common Core I Can statements from here. They are incredible! They are already typed and ready to go and it saves so much time!
